Read on for the release schedule and more information about what the release contains.

Release schedule

Halo Connect 22.1129 has been released to staging at the time of writing - that's the date the CalVer version is based on.

From this release onwards, the plan is to have a one week gap between staging and production releases for each version. This will give Halo Connect and our customers a chance to test the release before it becomes generally available.

This version was promoted to production on December 7, 2022 as part of release version 22.1207.

Changes & Highlights

If you would like a full run-down of the changes in this release, the Halo Connect Release Notes are the place to look. However, if you want the short version, here's some highlights:

Write support and experimental stored procedure support added

Integrators can now use Halo Connect for SQL write operations (insert, update and delete). The parameters for the /sites/{siteId}/queries Halo API endpoint have changed to support this.

Basic stored procedures support has also been added, though it is currently considered experimental. Integrators can attempt to use any stored procedures, however please be aware Halo Connect is currently only actively testing a few specific stored procedures.

As part of these changes, SQL Parameters can also now be used in text queries and stored procedures.

Support added for clinics running multiple servers

Halo Connect now has a concept of the authoritative server for a given clinic. The authoritative server for a clinic is the live BP server actively used by the clinic. Backups, testing and migration servers are treated as non-authorities by Halo Connect.

Each clinic should have exactly one authoritative server which integrators are able to contact. Non-authoritative servers can not currently be contacted by integrators.

Check out the Halo Connect Release Notes for more information on how authoritative servers work.

For customers: to change your authoritative server, please contact support@haloconnect.io.
